Founded in 1998 by the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, HuskyTHON has become the premiere philanthropy event at the University of Connecticut. The event, which raises money for the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center and Children's Miracle Network, was founded by students who had a desire to give back to the state they live in, and the children who need their help the most.
Since its inception, HuskyTHON has changed significantly, and is the only event of it's kind in the state. For 18 hours, UCONN students stand on their feet, for the goal of raising funds for these children. Their small sacrifice has raised over $100,000 for CCMC!
Today across the nation, over 80 schools hold Dance Marathons to raise money for Children's Miracle Network. So far, in 2007, the Dance Marathon program has raised over $4.3 million for the Children's Miracle Network hospitals.
